Wild Yarrow is a blossoming perennial, abundantly found in North America but also native to Europe and Asia. The herb produces leaves that are silky soft and segmented, akin to that of a feather.

Achillea millefolium produces stalks during the summer months, with a maximum height that is dependent upon seasonal rainfall. During drought years, these stalks may only grow a foot or two, so as to store energy within the roots. During fall, bunches of small white flowers burst atop the stalks, releasing a distinctive & identifying aroma. Some of the most common uses today, as well as generational hand-me-downs are for Herbal Extracts and Tea Blends.

Yarrow was awarded the Latin name Achillea in respect of the legendary Greek hero Achilles. According to the story, Achilles’ mother dipped him into the river Styx by the ankle in an effort to make him invulnerable. As a result of being a leader in charge of his troops as well as fighting various battles he would use yarrow for it's natural ability to stop bleeding amongst the wounds of his fellow soldiers. Achilles was later killed by a blow to his heel, the one unprotected aspect of his body.

Our extract is made with Wild-crafted Yarrow found in Northern Idaho, that's dried & infused with Vodka, Grain Alcohol & Water. It is somewhat bitter in taste and can be taken with various beverages including but not limited to water or juice or blended with other extracts like Dandelion or Catnip. The tincture makes a nice addition to teas such as Chamomile.

Precautions

Not for use in pregnancy except under the watchful eye of a qualified healthcare practitioner. Persons with "allergies" to other members of the "Asteraceae" family should exercise significant "caution" with yarrow, as allergic cross-reactivity is common to Asteraceae plants. We advise that you speak with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
